Beginner Macrame Tapestry

Event Date:

January 18, 2023

Event Time:

7:00 pm

Event Location:

Planthood

Macrame tapestry making is a type of textile art created using knotting techniques, as opposed to weaving or knitting. Macramé’s knot-tying origins can be traced back to 13th-century Arabic decorative weavers, but it has made a comeback since the 1970’s. The craft’s popularity has only grown since then and modern macrame techniques now allow for fun and decorative wall decor in any home.

Come join us for a beginner’s macrame tapestry workshop hosted by Hannah of @tetheredtwine, where we will teach you the basic macrame knots and you will create your very own tapestry which you can proudly say that you make with your own hands.  Afterwards you can use your skills to create more tapestries or other macrame projects such as plant hangers or purses. It’s all possible once you know the basic knots!

What you’ll get:

All materials are included in this workshop, including both natural cotton and dyed cotton rope as well as a wooden dowel. A instructional knot manual, including video links, will be provided during the workshop for all participants.
